- After you've chosen to download
("Save this file to disk") the "Save As..."
dialog will appear.
- Navigate to your TruckFinder folder
(usually C:\TFW)
- On the "Save As..." window
toolbar there will be a button that looks like this:
Click
on it, and type in a new folder name such as TFTemp or TFDownload
and press Enter.
- Double-click on your new folder name.
- The download file name will already
be entered in the dialog box. Click on the Save button, and wait for
the download to finish.
- When the download completes, use
Explorer or My Computer to navigate to your new temporary folder.
- If you have WinZip installed, you can
double-click on the new file to de-compress it.
- TruckFinder files downloaded from
here will usually be either manufacturer data files or cab outline
files. The naming convention is xxxData.Zip or xxxCabs.Zip,
where xxx is an acronym for the manufacturer. The xxx will
also match the folder name (usually C:\TFW\Data\xxx) where
the file is to be stored. A Data file will contain only xxxData.IMG;
a Cab file will contain all the cab outlines for that
manufacturer (anyname.X10, anyname.F10, anyname.D10).
If a ReadMe file is included, it contains special notes or
instructions and can be viewed in Notepad.
- In Explorer or My Computer, select
your new downloaded file(s). To select multiple files, hold down the
Ctrl key and click on each selection.
- When selection is complete(still
holding the Ctrl key), right-click, and choose Copy.
- Navigate to the appropriate ..\Data\xxx
folder, right-click anywhere in the white area, and choose Paste.
For updated files, there will be dialog asking if you want to
replace (over-write) existing file(s). You may click 'Yes' if the
file you are replacing is older than the replacement.
